South Carolina State Historical Records Advisory Board Regrant Program: Success Stories & Future Opportunities

The South Carolina State Historical Records Advisory Board (SC SHRAB) has been awarded funding of up to $80,000.00 from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC) to administer a Regrant Program for 2024-2025.
This presentation will provide an overview of the SC SHRAB’s regrant program, including eligible institutions and funding priorities as well as requirements and deadlines for the 2024-2025 cycle. It will also highlight the twelve successful projects from the 2022-2023 grant cycle as examples of awarded project types.
The SC SHRAB hopes to use this presentation to publicize the regrant program and to encourage attendees to apply for the 2024-2025 grant opportunity.
Erin Lowry has been with SCDAH since 2007. Her responsibilities have included providing records management guidance and training to state agencies, colleges, and universities. Since 2021, she has served as the State Historical Records Advisory Board Deputy Coordinator and in 2023 she was promoted to Records Management Supervisor. Her current responsibilities include providing leadership and direction to the Records Management Staff on state and local government records management

The Bumpy Road to Digital Records & Preservation
Monica Cannon, Digitization Specialist, and Heather Shockey, Digital Preservation Specialist, Greenville County Library System
This session will feature a description of the workflows and methods used by GCLS within their digital collections and records management systems. Topics will include issues related to discoverability and access, as well as preservation and storage. This presentation will provide insight into the quickly expanding field of digital records, especially as it connects to community representation and connections within archives.

South Carolina 250th Commission Grant Opportunities
South Carolina American Revolution Sestercentennial Commission
This session will detail the variety of grant programs (including Museum Style Panel Grants, Interpretive Center Grants, Research Grants, and Genealogy Grants) available from the South Carolina American Revolution Sestercentennial Commission. Also discussed are the Semiquincentennial NPS grant, and the SC American Revolution Trust who will be looking for partners to house American Revolution assets to help keep them in public use.
